The North Western Hopper

On Saturday 8th April 2017, We have arranged visits to Aintree Coachlines and Hilton Coaches.

As Northern Rail has announced that they plan to strike on the day of this running day, we will now start with a pick up at 9:20am from outside Warrington Central railway station after the arrival of the 8:37am EMT service from Manchester Piccadilly and the 8:52am EMT service from Liverpool Lime Street, there will also be a second pick up at 9:35am from outside Newton-le-Willows railway station after the 8:50am ATW service from Manchester Piccadilly and the 9:19am ATW service from Warrington Bank Quay to return by 16:30 approximately.

For a full days travel on board this running day the fare has been set at an amazing £10 per person.

The main aim during this event will be to visit each depot and to use a selection of interesting vehicles.

We have requested Dennis Arrow N403ARA and Dennis Lance P5ACL from Aintree Coachlines, we have also requested Volvo B10M's E737HFW, G100PES, G640CHF, FE02AKX, Volvo B7TL Y366GKR and VDL DB250 GK04NZU from Hilton's Coaches.

The Buses of Yesteryear

On Saturday Saturday 15th April 2017 we've arranged a visit to Confidence Bus & Coach of Leicester.

This running day was originally organised by Liam Flynn but sadly he's now unable to continue due to financial reasons, however Bus Running Days have stepped in to make sure this event isn't cancelled and to avoid any disappointment.

The day will start with a pick up from Wigston depot at 10:00am, a second pick up will be made from outside Leicester railway station at 10:30 and we will be aiming to return everyone back to the railway station for 17:30 and no later than 18:00 at Wigston depot.

For a full days travel on board this running day the fare has been set at an amazing £10 per person.

During this visit, we have requested the following vehicles: AEC Routemaster WLT655, DAF DB250's S213JUA / S214JUA, Volvo Olympian's T479KDM / V363JMB / V364JMB, Volvo B7TL's V188OOE and V208OOE.

Please note, the AEC Routemaster and the Volvo Olympian's will be used the first vehicles to be used during this running day followed by the low floor vehicles etc.

Cumbria Vintage Bus Running Day


For the first time ever, we will be running an excursion to the very popular "Cumbria Vintage Bus Running Day" at Brough on Sunday 16th April 2017.

As it's not the easiest place to get to by public transport, we would like to help more people visit this superb event.

We will be departing at 9:45am from the Park Lane entrance of Darlington Railway Station using a vehicle from the very impressive fleet of Hodgson Coaches at Barnard Castle.

For anyone who would like to join us aboard this excursion, we will be offering the money saving bargain fare of only £8 return per person which is payable on the day.

Darlington can be reached for our scheduled departure by catching the following trains:

07:44 or 08:25 from Leeds
08:55 or 09:06 from Newcastle
09:04 or 09:09 from York

Johnson Brothers Running Day

On Saturday 22nd April 2017, Rob Walker has organised a running day with Johnson Brothers of Hodthorpe.

The day will start with a pick up at 10:30am from Chesterfield rail station (return by 17:30).

The main aim during this event will be to enjoy rides on 7 different Olympian's from their fleet.

For a full days travel on board this running day the fare has been set at an £15 per person which is payable on the day.

There will be time given to photograph vehicles both at the depot and during there runs, a short break for lunch will also be included in this running day.

The Gloucestershire Galavant

On Saturday 6th May 2017, Independent Bus Tours have organised a visit to Marchant's Coaches of Cheltenham.

The day will start with a pick up at 10:30am from outside Cheltenham Spa railway station (returning by 16:30).

For a full days travel on board this running day the fare has been set at an £15 per person which is payable on the day.

This trip includes rides on 6 different vehicle's from the fleet of Marchant's Coaches and all vehicles carry the smart allover red livery with gold lettering.

As ever there will be plenty of opportunity for photographs of the vehicles both at the depot and on location, and a short break for lunch is included in the itinerary.

The Blackpool Flyer

We would like to offer you all something slighty different during the Summer Holidays.

This will be in the form of an excursion to Blackpool on Tuesday 22nd August 2017.

The coach will depart from Meadowhall Coach Park at 7:30am and will make a second pick up from the rear of Wakefield bus station (Providence Street) at 8:15am, we will also make a third pick up from outside Huddersfield railway station at 9:15am before running direct to Blackpool, returning from Blackpool at 17:30 approximately.

All seats are available at the bargain price of £10 per adult and only £5 for children but its advised that seats must be reserved in advance to avoid disappointment.

The North Hykeham Express

On Sunday 5th November 2017, we have arranged an excursion to Lincoln's Vintage Bus Rally.

We will be using former Burnley & Pendle Volvo Olympian / Alexander Royale N116UHP which is now owned by Coopers of Killamarsh.

The day will start with a pick up at 8:10am from outside Leeds railway station, there will be a second pick up at 8:15am from outside Leeds Central Bus Station (opposite Bingo), we will then proceed directly to Meadowhall Coach Park for 9:00am to make our final pick up before heading down to North Hykeham.

This excursion is open to everyone and theere is a bargain fare of only £10 per person which is payable on the day.

Please note, N116UHP will not be in use at the rally but will be on display for photographs etc.

We will return from North Hykeham Bus Museum at 17:15 approximately.

The Auckland Adventure

On Saturday 6th January 2018, Garnetts Coaches of Bishop Auckland will be hosting a bus running day.

The day will start with a pick up at 10:45am from outside the Park Lane / Victoria Road entrance of Darlington railway station and we hope to return by 17:00 approximately.

For a full days travel on board this running day the fare has been set at an amazing £10 per person.

The main aim during this event will be to visit their depot and to use at least 6 former Stagecoach Dennis Trident / Alexander ALX400's chosen from T688KPU, T693KPU, V173MEV, V179MEV, X287NNO, X307NNO, Y359NHK and Y361NHK.

On Saturday 3rd February 2018, 2 Way Transport will be hosting a running day.

The day will start with a pick up at 10:20am from Lakeside Retail Park and a second pick up will be made at 10:30am from outside Scunthorpe railway station to return by 17:00 approximately.

For a full days travel aboard this running day the fare has been set at an amazing £10 per person which is payable on the day.

The main aim during this running day will be to visit their depot and to use all of the following vehicles: W161RFX, W163RFX, W166RFX, Y168FEL, Y173FEL, Y174FEL and Y199FEL.
